Exploring the Future of Ski Gear: WWSRA Demo Days at Mammoth Mountain
On February 4th and 5th, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the WWSRA Demo at Mammoth Mountain, where we tested next year’s cutting-edge ski and snowboard products. This event provided us with firsthand experience of the latest innovations in gear for the 2025-2026 season, giving us valuable insights into the performance of new models across various conditions and skill levels.
Testing the Latest Skis & Snowboards
The demo days showcased a wide variety of skis and snowboards from top vendors, each designed to enhance the riding experience for different mountain conditions. Our team was able to put these new models to the test, evaluating their responsiveness, stability, and versatility on Mammoth’s diverse terrain.
The Challenge of Changing Conditions
While our excitement was high, Mother Nature had other plans on the first day. Strong winds forced nearly all the lifts to go on wind hold, cutting the demo day short. Fortunately, since the conditions were mostly hard pack, many attendees weren’t too disappointed with the shortened testing time.
However, the second day delivered exactly what we were hoping for—fresh snow overnight created the perfect testing conditions. This allowed us to get a better feel for how the new skis and boards performed in softer, more dynamic terrain.
Standout Equipment: Salomon QST
One of the biggest highlights of the demo was the Salomon QST ski. This model stood out among our team members as a top performer, handling the fresh snow with ease and providing a smooth, responsive ride. Its versatility and stability made it a favorite among our testers, reinforcing why Salomon continues to be a trusted name in the industry.
Gaining Valuable Insights
Despite the challenges on day one, our time at the WWSRA Demo was a huge success. By experiencing these next-generation skis and snowboards firsthand, we gained crucial knowledge about how they handle in real mountain conditions. This hands-on testing will allow us to better inform our customers about the best gear options for their needs, ensuring they find the perfect setup for their winter adventures.
As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 season, we’re excited to bring these insights back to our community and help them make the most of their time on the slopes. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest gear, trends, and expert recommendations from our team!
